The applicability of the squeeze film flow geometry in a processibilit
y tester is investigated in this study. A prototype processibility tes
ter has been built by retrofitting it to a servo-hydraulic load frame.
Several processibility parameters such as viscosity and the elastic c
omponent in the melt have been investigated. With the concept of equiv
alent elastic strain, the extrudate swell can be semi-quantitatively p
