The frequency dependence of the photoacoustic (PA) signal is investiga
ted upon heating of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) in the glass tran
sition region. The frequency f vs reciprocal glass transition temperat
ure T(g) data, obtained from the present PA measurements, are compared
with those of the previous differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) in
vestigation. The results are in good agreement with the theoretical mo
dels of Avramov and Milchev and of Adam and Gibbs.
