M. Iwamoto et al., NUMERICAL COMPUTATION OF LIQUID ENCAPSULATED CZOCHRALSKI BULK FLOW INCOMPARISON WITH FLOW VISUALIZATION, Journal of Chemical Engineering of Japan, 27(3), 1994, pp. 344-350
Numerical computations were carried out for liquid encapsulated Czochr
alski bulk flow for the modeled fluid of glycerol (model for melt) and
silicon oil (model for encapsulated fluid) which were employed for te
mperature and flow visualization. Axi-symmetric cylindrical model equa
tions were derived and numerically solved for stable cyclic solutions
to be consistent with the flow visualization experiments to confirm th
e present computational system. Afterward, actual physical properties
for GaAs and B2O3 were employed for more realistic numerical simulatio
n and oscilllatory convection was found for Gr(m)/Re(m)2 values less t
han 10.
