Abstract
We discuss an effective Lagrangian model in which the U(1) chiral symm etry is restored above the SU(L) X SU(L) chiral phase transition (L be ing the number of light flavours) and the topological susceptibility c hi(YM) of the pure Yang-Mills theory drops to zero above the chiral tr ansition. A new order parameter is introduced for the U(1) chiral symm etry and a new ''exotic'' particle becomes relevant at high temperatur es.
