Abstract
The Tm:Ho solid state lasers pumpable by laser diodes and emitting aro und 2.1 mum present interesting applications.In the Ca2Al2SiO7 (CAS) g ehlenite host, we have studied the Tm3+ emission, strongly dependent o f the doping concentration, the Tm3+-Tm3+ energy transfer leading to t he F-3(4) --- > H-3(6) broad emission [lambda max = 1780 nm, using the [H-3(4), H-3(6)] --- > [F-3(4), F-3(4)] cross-relaxation scheme]. Fur thermore, the Tm3+-Ho3+ interactions have also been demonstrated in th is study.
