Abstract
The authors describe in full the elucidation of complete structures of guaianolide and germacranolide lactones, isolated from some species o f genera Centaurea L., Chartolepis CASS. and others belonging to subtr ibe Centaureinae DUMORT. The structures were determined mainly on the basis of detailed analysis of H-1 NMR and CD spectra. The structure of linichlorin B (XV) was determined by X-ray diffraction analysis.
