P. Mikulasek, METHODS TO REDUCE CONCENTRATION POLARIZATION AND FOULING IN MEMBRANE FILTRATION, Collection of Czechoslovak Chemical Communications, 59(4), 1994, pp. 737-755
Various methods and concepts that are currently being used and propose
d to control or minimize concentration polarization and fouling in mem
brane separation processes are reviewed. A morphological analysis of h
ydrodynamic ways to prevent the detrimental influence on fluxes is giv
en. The potentials of these different approaches are analyzed and some
examples of module designs resulting from the various approaches with
special attention to rotary membrane modules are given.
