Abstract
The authors describe an actively (FM) modelocked Pr3+-doped fluoride f ibre laser operating at 1.3mum. Pulse durations of approximately 30ps have been generated at a repetition rate of 419MHz with an average out put power of 1 mW. The observed pulse characteristics are consistent w ith measurements of the fibre nonlinearity and dispersion.
