Abstract
A technique for automatic phase alignment and phase sensitive detectio n for a fibre optic magnetostrictive sensor is described. The techniqu e which was successfully implemented in an undersea system for making long term measurements, is applicable to a variety of phase sensitive detection problems involving remote sensing.
