Abstract
A correlation was found between the saturation of silicon content of a lpha-Fe nanocrystals and the improvement of soft magnetic properties ( initial permeability, mu(i) and power loss, P) as a function of anneal ing time at about 550-degrees-C annealing temperature. The partially c rystallised FINEMET has a mi(i) comparable to and a P characteristic m uch better than those of the Co-based zero-magnetostrictive VAC-6025F amorphous alloy.
