W. Zarek et al., MAGNETIC-PROPERTIES OF DYFE6AL6 COMPOUND STUDIED BY MAGNETOSTATIC ANDMOSSBAUER METHODS, IEEE transactions on magnetics, 30(2), 1994, pp. 1045-1047
Magnetic investigations of DyFe6Al6 compound showed that it is a ferri
magnet with the Curie temperature T(C)=316 K and with a relatively str
ong magnetocrystalline anisotropy. Below 130 K all phenomena character
istic for spin glass behaviour were observed i.e. marked thermomagneti
c hysteresis, time dependence of magnetization, inflection point in ma
gnetic isotherms, an unusual shape of the hysteresis loop and a very l
arge rotational hysteresis. Mossbauer absorption spectra below the Cur
ie temperature were best described by the magnetic fields distribution
which proves the magnetic disordering in the Fe sublattice. From the
analysis of temperature dependence of magnetic fields distributions it
follows that about 30% of the Fe atoms start to order below 130 K. Th
e results obtained suggest that magnetic ordering in the Fe sublattice
is responsible for the magnetic behaviour or DyFe6Al6 compound below
130 K.
