The results of magnetic measurements performed on YBa2(Cu1-xZnx)3O7-de
lta superconducting materials with x less-than-or-equal-to 0.1, in the
temperature range 5-300 K and fields up to 70 kOe are reported. The r
ate of induction of Cu2+ ions, as compared to the number of Zn ones, i
s 1:1 for x less-than-or-equal-to 0.05. For higher zinc content the nu
mber of Cu2+ ions is smaller than that of Zn2+ ions. The reciprocal of
critical temperature Tc-1 and of critical current densities, jc-1, ar
e linearly dependent on Cu2+ content.
