X. Yi, FRACTAL STUDY OF TERTIARY STRUCTURE OF PROTEINS - COMMENT, Physical review. E, Statistical physics, plasmas, fluids, and related interdisciplinary topics, 49(6), 1994, pp. 5903-5905
It is shown that the mean fractal dimension of the global structure of
90 proteins is greater than that of an unrestricted random walk. Some
modifications on the method of calculating the length of the backbone
of a protein chain and a possible connection of the mean fractal dime
nsions of the local structures with the secondary structures of protei
ns are discussed.
