Abstract
We present a new set of universally scaled equations describing radiat ion and electron beam evolution in gyrotron and cyclotron auto-resonan ce maser devices. Physical interpretation of the scaling parameters an d both linear and numerical solutions to the equations are given. A Ha miltonian is given for certain limiting conditions. With further condi tions the equations reduce to a form identical to those describing evo lution in the Compton regime free electron laser.
