M. Aron, ON A CLASS OF PLANE RADIAL DEFORMATIONS OF COMPRESSIBLE NONLINEARLY ELASTIC SOLIDS, IMA journal of applied mathematics, 52(3), 1994, pp. 289-296
In a plane strain framework, the largest class of isotropic unconstrai
ned hyperelastic solids for which a certain class of plane radial defo
rmations is possible in the absence of body forces is characterized in
terms of the stored-energy function. Also obtained are sufficient con
ditions for the local stability of radial configurations of elastic ho
llow cylinders whose inner and outer lateral surfaces are subject to p
rescribed boundary displacement.
