Abstract
Two patients with schizophrenia had markedly abnormal neuroimaging stu dies; one was found to have a large, cystic cavum vergae, while the ot her demonstrated complete agenesis of the septum pellucidum with a mon oventricular system. The increased prevalence of developmental abnorma lities of midline forebrain structures in patients with schizophrenia suggests that dysgenesis of these structures may be contributory to th e neurobiology of schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders.
