Abstract
We have carried out a generalization of the continuum distorted wave e ikonal initial state (CDW-EIS) approximation for ion impact ionization in which the interaction of the ejected electron with the target is r epresented by a Hartree-Fock potential. We apply this theory to the io nization of Ar by 350 keV protons. Very good agreement is obtained wit h experiment for the angular and energy distribution of electrons ejec ted from the L and M shells.
