Abstract
An attempt was made to generate monoclonal antibodies against Mycobact erium bovis BCG. Balb/c mice were immunized with M. bovis BCG soluble antigens. Initially 32 wells were positive for antibody; 22 clones sto pped secreting antibodies, while 10 clones maintained the reactivity t o M. bovis BCG. Two positive clones (1A7, 2F9) were subcloned. Wells 1 G4, 1H1, 1H11 of 1A7 showed monoclonal antibodies by ELISA of IgG1 typ e. Monoclonal antibody 1G4, reacted with 16 KDa antigen on western blo tting and was cross-reactive with different species of mycobacteria te sted.
