Abstract
On genetic, phenotypic and environmental scale, plasma alkaline phosph atase (PAP) level at the age of 9 to 10 months and age at sexual matur ity had significant direct influence on egg production and indirect ef fect through fertility and hatchability at genetic scale. The positive relationship of PAP with egg production at early age will reduce the generation interval and increase the genetic gain per unit of time.
