The dipole moment function for the X 2PI state of NO is studied as a f
unction of the completeness in both the one- and n-particle spaces. Ei
nstein coefficients are presented that are significantly more accurate
than previous tabulations for the higher vibrational levels. The theo
retical values give considerable insight into the limitations of recen
tly published ratios of Einstein coefficients measured by spectrally r
esolved infrared chemiluminescence.
