Na2 molecules in the weakly bound lowest triplet state 1 3SIGMA(u)+ ar
e formed in a cold supersonic argon beam seeded with sodium. They are
excited by a tunable cw Ti:sapphire laser into levels of the 1 3SIGMA(
g)+ state which are ionized by an argon ion laser. From a vibrational
analysis of the resonant two-photon ionization (RTPI) spectrum the con
stants T(e) = 17972 +/-4 cm-1, omega-(e) = 100.5 +/- 0.9 cm-1 and omeg
a(e)x(e) = 0.57 +/- 0.03 cm-1 are obtained for the Na2 (1 3SIGMA(g)+)
state.
