Rsr. Gorla et Hs. Takhar, BOUNDARY-LAYER FLOW OF MICROPOLAR FLUID ON ROTATING AXISYMMETRICAL SURFACES WITH A CONCENTRATED HEAT-SOURCE, Acta mechanica, 105(1-4), 1994, pp. 1-10
The theory of micropolar fluids due to Eringen is used to formulate a
set of boundary layer equations for the convective flow of an incompre
ssible micropolar fluid on rotating adiabatic axisymmetric surfaces wi
th a concentrated heat source located at the tip. The velocity and the
rmal boundary layers spread because of the centrifugal forces induced
due to rotation. Similarity transformations are presented for the cons
ervation equations and these are solved numerically. The effects of th
e boundary conditions used for the microrotation term are discussed.
