Abstract
In a recent paper, Chaudhuri and Mondal [Phys. Rev. A 43, 3241 (1991)] have reported an improved Hill determinant method for the calculation of the eigenvalues of general quantum anharmonic oscillators. However , the accuracy of their calculations is restricted by their use of a n onrecursive matrix diagonalization scheme. We show how considerably gr eater accuracy can be achieved by the use of tridiagonal vector recurr ence relations.
