Abstract
A formula for the two-pion correlation function is derived for a chaot ic source when the emission spectrum from each space-time point is kno wn. It is shown that without fully understanding the evolution process of the source, no realistic source size can be obtained. The differen ces among different formulas of pion interferometry are also given.
