Abstract
The reaction of [Li(C5Me4H)] with MCl4 (M = U, Th) in tetrahydrofuran gives highly sterically congested tris(tetramethylcyclopentadienyl)act inide(IV) derivatives which have been characterized by variable-temper ature NMR studies and, in the case of the uranium compound, by X-ray c rystallography.
