The first structure determination of a monomeric platinum complex with
a pyridine-2-thiolato ligand is reported. The Pt atom in 2-thiolato-N
,S)bis(triphenylphosphine)platinum(II) hexafluorophosphate chloroform
solvate, [Pt(C5H4NS)-(PPh3)2]PF6.CHCl3, is coordinated by two tripheny
lphosphine ligands and a pyridine-2-thiolato ligand through N and S at
oms.
