V. Munyejabo et al., ACTIVATION OF MOLECULAR-OXYGEN BY IRON NITROSYLS IN THE PRESENCE OF THE BIDENTATE PHOSPHINES 1,2-BIS(DIPHENYLPHOSPHINO)ETHANE AND ETHENE, Inorganica Chimica Acta, 221(1-2), 1994, pp. 133-139
Activation of molecular oxygen (1 atm, room temperature) by the nitros
yl dimer [Fe(NO)2Cl]2 in the presence of the bidentate phosphorus liga
nds PP (PP = 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane, dppe, and 1,2-bis(diphe
nylphosphino)-ethene, dppen) yields the nitrato molecular complexes Fe
(NO3)2Cl(OPPO), (2), while the ionic complexes [FeCl4][Fe(NO3)2(OPPO)2
], (3) are obtained when [Fe(NO)2Cl]2(mu-PP) is allowed to react with
molecular oxygen. Complexes 2 and 3 transfer oxygen to phosphines. The
y catalyze the autoxidation of cyclohexene.
