Abstract
Hydrolysis of the P-OAr bond in dimethyl aryl phosphates is catalysed by fluoride ion due to the fast formation of intermediate phosphoroflu oridate; LiF shows a much weaker catalytic effect than other alkali me tal and tetramethylammonium fluoride salts.
