Abstract
Reaction of mercury(II) acetate with the 1,3-alternate conformer of p- tert-butyltetramercaptocalix[4]arene, obtained by a highly efficient s ynthesis starting from p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene, leads to a binuclear complex in which both mercury ions are linearly coordinated to two ar enethiolates groups.
