Abstract
In addition to ammonia, 3-methylaspartase is able to catalyse the conj ugate addition of hydrazine, hydroxylamine, methoxylamine and alkylami nes to various alkyl- and halogenofumaric acids to give single enantio mers of the corresponding N-substituted aspartic acids.
