We present a calculation of the quantum mechanical anticorrelation bet
ween two electrons each occupying an elongated quantum dot (''quantum
dash'') and compare it to the corresponding classical result. A nonzer
o anticorrelation arises due to the repulsion between electrons. While
the classical system is characterized by a sharp transition in the an
ticorrelation function, quantum effects smear out this sharp onset. Th
e presence of a strong external magnetic field enhances the particle l
ocalization, causing the quantum anticorrelation to approach the class
ical limit. Some practical applications are discussed.
