Abstract
The decision in a recent court case against Vassar College adds legal teeth to an assertion held by many women scientists in academia that b eing married-with children has no bearing on women scientists' product ivity; the court ruled that these circumstances cannot be used as a ra tionale to deny such women tenure or equal pay.
