Abstract
In this, paper we report a new accurate neutron diffraction measuremen t of the structure factor S(Q) of liquid,bromine at room temperature. A comparison has been made with molecular dynamics (MD) simulation dat a obtained by using a recent intermolecular potential. The agreement b etween the present data and the MD results turn out to be quite good, which is a strong indication that this is a satisfactory Potential mod el for liquid Br2 near the melting point, at least as far as the micro scopic structure is concerned.
