Abstract
8-Substituted 7-(oxoalkyl)theophyllines were synthesized by alkylation of the respective theophyllines with chloroacetone or 6-chloro-2-hexa none, and alternatively, by addition of 8-substituted theophylline to methyl vinyl ketone. The effect of final compounds on aggregation of b lood platelets and red blood cells was tested.
