S. Werin, SIMULATIONS OF THE BEAM PERFORMANCE IN THE MAX-II ELECTRON STORAGE-RING, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section A, Accelerators, spectrometers, detectors and associated equipment, 346(1-2), 1994, pp. 36-40
The beam performance of the MAX II storage ring is described by comput
er simulations. The dynamic aperture reduction due to chromaticity cor
recting multipoles, higher order multipoles in quadrupoles and dipoles
, alignment errors and energy deviations is calculated. The future ope
ration of the storage ring with insertion devices is discussed. The re
sults show that the MAX II storage ring will operate with a reasonable
closed orbit deviation and dynamic aperture even without making use o
f the correlation magnets in the machine. This implies that the start
up procedure would be fairly easy.
