Abstract
The performance of an X-ray area detector, based on a scintillating gl ass fiber plate coupled to an intensified CCD, at room temperature, is reported in comparison with phosphor area detectors. The comparative tests are on spatial resolution and on quantum efficiency. The results are favourable to the scintillating glass fiber plate detector using hard X-rays.
