Abstract
This paper presents simulation strategies that allow efficient solutio n of problems related to simulation, optimization and data-reconciliat ion of industrial chemical processes. The simulation strategies addres s the difficulties associated with obtaining a converged solution when dealing with highly coupled process flowsheets. The ammonia process f lowsheet is used as an example to illustrate the advantages of employi ng the proposed simulation strategies. The numerical results also demo nstrate the advantage of model identification and adaptation (for opti mization problems) with data-reconciliation.
