A. Adell et S. Gromb, CALCULATION OF HEAT DISSIPATION DUE TO PO OR THERMAL CONDUCTION IN THE GENERATOR OF A CHEMICALLY-ACTIVATED THERMAL MACHINE, Journal of power sources, 50(3), 1994, pp. 391-394
A calculation of the heat dissipation resulting directly from poor the
rmal conduction inside a solar collector filled with a microporous sol
id adsorbant has been carried out using an exergetic local balance. Th
e computed result is 180 kJ m-2 for the collector studied. The same ca
lculation has given the decrease in exergetic dissipation when the qua
lity of thermal transfer is improved. Thus, one is able to estimate th
e importance of these improvements by comparing them to the improvemen
ts that can also be achieved with the other parts of the machine.
