Abstract
Boron enolates bearing menthone-derived chiral ligands are capable of fair to excellent diastereocontrol in their reactions with chiral alde hydes. Thioester-derived (better than ketone derived) enolates are abl e to control aldol stereochemistry irrespective of the aldehyde prefer ences.
