Abstract
We report the case of a 40 year-old woman, pregnant for 4 months, with acute hepatitis revealed by jaundice, fever and high serum aminotrans ferase levels. Infection by Listeria monocytogenes was demonstrated by blood cultures. The course of the disease was characterized by aborti on and complete recovery of hepatitis within 4 weeks after antibiotic administration. This report shows that listeriosis can cause acute sev ere hepatitis.
