Abstract
Experiments were conducted to evaluate the effects of cocaine (0.5 mg/ kg) on the development of autochthonous tumors induced by the Moloney sarcoma virus (MSV) in adult BALB/c female mice. Enhancement of MSV-in duced tumor incidence and tumor growth together with a delay in the us ual prompt regression of the tumors were observed when mice were daily injected with cocaine for 3 days after MSV-inoculation. However, no s ignificant effects of cocaine on tumor development were found when it was administered during the 3 days before tumor was inoculated.
