ENVIRONMENTAL-HEALTH INTERVENTIONS IN EGYPTIAN VILLAGES

Community action should be seen within a broad enabling context. This study in two Egyptian villages suggests a model of how villagers, both women and men, and local leaders can learn to work with and participa te in the formal organizational structure of the local government in o rder to achieve improvements in local environmental conditions.
