Ii. Vygovskaya et al., MORBIDITY OF HEMOBLASTOSES IN ROVENSKY DI STRICT OF UKRAINE BEFORE AND AFTER CHERNOBYL AES ACCIDENT, Gematologia i transfuziologia, 39(3), 1994, pp. 22-24
Hemoblastose morbidity in children and adult populations and its struc
ture were studied during the period of 1981-1992 at Rovensky district
of Ukraine, 6 northern districts of which were affected by radionuclid
es after Chernobyl AES accident. Primary documentation, actual and arc
hival records were the object of study: registration diaries, records
and ambulatory cards. Expeditional method of investigation. During the
last 11 years a rise of hemoblastose morbidity was stated in Rovensky
district, especially after the accident, and it was confirmed by a pr
ofound statistical analysis of data on leukemia morbidity before and a
fter the accident. Among different nosological forms after the acciden
t the rate of leukemia morbidity as well as myeloma disease and malign
ant lymphoma morbidity, rose markedly. No significant difference was m
arked in hemoblastoses (excluding acute leukemia) in non-contaminated
and contaminated with radionuclides regions of the district, and in co
ntaminated zones depending on effective equivalent doze. Acute leukemi
a morbidity in contaminated regions after the accident was statistical
ly reliably higher.
