Abstract
A model for hybrid excitations of a QCD string with quarks is presente d on the basis of perturbation theory in a nonperturbative background. A simplified version of the Hamiltonian, including both long-range no nperturbative interaction and a Coulomb force, is derived. The masses of the lowest q(q) over barg$ hybrids are evaluated, and numerical res ults for the spectra are presented.
