A. Fouladi et Ja. Valdivia, PERIOD CONTROL OF CHAOTIC SYSTEMS BY OPTIMIZATION, Physical review. E, Statistical physics, plasmas, fluids, and related interdisciplinary topics, 55(2), 1997, pp. 1315-1320
We introduce and implement a method of control based on optimization.
An error function, which is a measure of deviation from the desired ti
me evolution (periodic motion), is constructed. The error function is
then minimized along the trajectory in order to stabilize an unstable
periodic orbit. The process of optimization is not arbitrary but const
rained to the dynamics. No specific knowledge of the desired state of
the system is required. We also demonstrate how orbits of ''high'' per
iod are similarly controlled.
