Abstract
Radio frequency and microwave frequency complex dielectric permittivit y epsilon = epsilon' - i epsilon'' data for LiClO4 in tetraglyme as w ell as similar previously published data for LiNO3 in liquid polyethyl ene oxides are reviewed. The reliability of the dielectric ion coeffic ient epsilon(d)'' at concentrations C much greater than 0.1 M (obtaine d as the difference between the total loss epsilon'' and the conductan ce loss epsilon(x)'' = 1.8 X 10(12)chi/f) is questioned for frequencie s f less-than-or-equal-to 0.1 GHz. The interpretation of the dielectri c spectra of LiClO4 (and of LiNO3) in polyethers is critically analyze d.
