Abstract
Feedback pinning is a useful method in controlling spatiotemporal chao s of a coupled map lattice (CML). We analytically derive the minimal p inning density for controlling spatiotemporal chaos in a general one-d imensional CML. The results give a general condition for controlling a CML to the desired states. The results are verified by numerical simu lations of the coupled logist map.
