Smf. Kim et al., EXPRESSION OF THE LACTOBACILLUS-CASEI LACTATE-DEHYDROGENASE GENE IN BACILLUS-SUBTILIS, Biotechnology letters, 16(6), 1994, pp. 561-564
A gene for allosteric lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) of Lactobacillus cas
ei ATCC393 was transferred into Bacillus subtilis. The LDH was produce
d in a growth-associated type, and comprised up to 40 % of the total c
ellular protein. The maximum specific activity in the transformant was
208 U/mg protein which was approximately 16 times higher than in L. c
asei or in the previously constructed Escherichia coli transformant.
