Analysis of normal uroflow curves with two different methods give evid
ence that the uroflow is fractal. It is possible to synthesize uroflow
like curves with the fractal interpolation technique of Barnsley, whic
h may become a way to characterize clinical measurements. Differences
between real and synthetic uroflow curves appear when the Lyapunov exp
onent (a measure of complexity) is calculated: the synthetic curves ap
pear chaotic in this respect, as opposed to the real flow curves.
