Abstract
A stimulation of salinity - induced increase in proline was observed i n leaves of wheat (Triticum aestivum L. cv. Mehran-89) seedlings. Trea tments with norflurazon (NF) also enhanced proline accumulation and th e effect was additive under salinity. Root and/or leaf treatments with abscisic acid (AbA) did not cause an increase iii proline content in the NF-treated seedlings. These findings do not indicate an influence of AbA on proline accumulation under salinity stress.
